How to hide by default the left bookmark pane when opening ?

When I open a new pdf doc then sometimes but not always at the left side a bookmark/Comments/Pages pane appear.

How can I dsiable this pane by default? It should only be visible when I
activate t (by hotkey).

Preferences, Page Display, Initial View.

If it is on Automatic (the default) the bookmarks will be shown if the PDF file's author requests it to be shown. You can set that option to page only.
