Neue Version = Scanner-Problem

Hallo, seit ich die neue Version installiert habe, funktioniert mein Scanner nicht mehr ordnungsgemäß. Das soll heißen, dass der Scanner zwar erkannt wird, aber nach dem Klicken auf das Scanner-Symbol (1) wird nur noch mitgeteilt, dass der Scanner aufgewärmt wird - und dieses Bild bleibt (2). Bisher wurde diese Mitteilung vielleicht für eine Sekunde angezeigt, dann begann der Scan. Jetzt "hängt" sich der Editor auf. Anbei 2 screenshots.

There is a known issue with the current versions of our default scanner drivers which can interfere wish some specific scanner models. To rectify this temporarily, Close all instances of our software, then open the installation folder.
(Default: C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Editor )
And Delete the X86 and X64 folders contained within:

With this complete, you should be able to re-launch our software (A system restart may be required in some cases), and scanning should begin working once again for you.

We are aiming to resolve this issue for the next release, so do keep an eye out for new updates.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't help! -
The connection to the scanner "hangs up". Then I have to close the software with the "task manager".
I have taken 2 more screenshots. One shows the contents of "C:\Programme\Tracker Software\PDF Editor", the other shows Tracker software under START. Can this be correct?

Understood, If that did not help, please try downloading the Portable version of the Editor, here: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/produc ... fileid=699

Simply extract the contained files into an empty folder on your desktop and then double click the executable file contained within the new folder.
This version may work better with your scanner, but please let us know how it goes!

Hi, thanks for your tip, but I can't find a "portable version" under this link??? I asked under SEARCH, but no "portable version" was shown!

But the problem has been solved for the time being: I uninstalled the scanner and reinstalled it. Now the note "Canon WIA" appeared. This is different from before, but it works quite well so far. :)

That link directly downloads the portable in a zipped folder, simply open the downloaded zip folder, and place the full contents into an empty folder anywhere on your PC. Once the extraction is complete, double click on the PDFXEdit.exe file contained within, and the portable will start up.

In any case, if the issue is now resolved, you can disregard that, I am glad to hear it is working now!

Hi Daniel, thanks for the notice. I installed the portable version for safety and as a test, but it doesn't work with it! So it's probably the Twain driver - I suspect -, because in the "normal" software (see screenshot) Twain and WIA are displayed, while the portable version only shows me TWAIN in the interface. With WIA it works for me - not as before, but still.
So I hope that this will be fixed soon.

Thank you for trying that, Speaking with the Dev team again, there is one item I missed mentioning for your tests (my apologies). In the PORTABLE version, please open the Plugins.x86 folder and locate the "AzureRMS.pvp" file contained within. Please delete that file, and then try scanning once again with both the TWAIN and WIA drivers, and let us know if it helps.

Hello, I have tried it out. Both work for me: WIA + TWAIN. The scan result from TWAIN is better. But :x with both I get the purchase notes on the left and right when saving. I can't use that. What now?

That would likely be because the portable version does not yet have a license key in place. You can add the key to the software via help > about. If the portable is only running on the same machine as your original installation, you do not need to worry about it counting as a secondary installation.
