The issue reported below has been resolved in Ver 9.5 build 365.
I appreciate all the hard work and efforts of the support and development team.
==============================================================================
Hello all,
"Selection" color of the Customize UI setting (Figure 1), as the word implies, affects colors related to "Selection" such as when selecting thumbnails in the Thumbnails pane or selecting items in various dialogs. When the link edit mode is activated by pressing the "Add/Edit Link" button on the "Home" tab, the link borders (*1) will also be displayed in the color specified by the "Selection" color.
- (*1) The link borders in this topic refers to what is temporarily displayed in link edit mode. In other words, the link border width is set to 0 pt, and nothing is displayed on the screen when link edit mode is disabled.
As long as the default UI color theme is applied, the color of the thumbnail selected in the Thumbnails pane and the color of the link border are both very easy to see because they both have a white background. The Figure 2 shows four links visible in link edit mode and six pages selected in the Thumbnails pane.
However, the closer the background is to black, such as a black theme, the more difficult it becomes to achieve both visibility in the Thumbnails pane and in the link borders (Figure 3). This is because in the default theme color, both the background of the Thumbnails pane and the document background are white in common, whereas in the black theme, the document background color remains white and only the background of the Thumbnails pane changes to a dark color.
If the selection color is changed to a bright color such as yellow to prioritize visibility in the Thumbnails pane (*2), the link borders will be difficult to see (Figure 4). In the most extreme case, if the selection color is set to white, the link border will be white on white background and completely invisible. So, it would be appreciated if the color of the link borders in link edit mode could be set independently from the "Selection" color.
- (*2) The application must be restarted for the selection color change to take effect.
As a side note, in the current version, there is a limitation (possibly a bug) that when the Selection color setting is changed, only the selection color of the Thumbnails pane, etc. is immediately reflected, and the link borders color is reflected after the application is restarted. If you take advantage of this limitation, it is possible to temporarily set the selection color of the Thumbnails pane and the color of the link borders separately (Figure 5). Of course, this is an almost meaningless workaround, since the settings must be changed each time the application is started and each time it is closed.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
Best regards,
rakunavi
