Clickable hyperlinks in comments?

Post by MedBooster »

As the title says.

Is it possible?

I've tried pasting in links in various ways, with the typewriter tool, in pop-up windows, but they don't seem to be clickable?

What's the criteria to make a URL address link direct you to the page when clicking on it? Does it only work in certain text fields?

Hello, MedBooster

At the moment, I am afraid not. Links in PDF's must be an object of their own and cannot be contained within another comment object, to my knowledge.

Kind regards,

Oh, well
if it turns out to be possible , you might want to allow for it by for example holding Ctrl when left-clicking

Or is there a way to add a clickable hyperlink that I've been missing? Not necessarily as a comment, but as an object/element – whatever you want to call it

like when clicking on an image or a word, that would be pretty cool

Hello, MedBooster

To place a hyperlink on a page, that would be the "add/edit links" tool on the Home tab:

Simply choose "advanced" and then open a web link:

Happy easter
Well that's a lot of steps... wouldn't it be better to simply have some option to enable this in the settings? To hold ctrl and click on links in comments (be it typewriter, textbook, callout ... – or even within a sticky note I imagine would be useful to open them in your browser? :)

Hello, MedBooster

if you have links written out in full in plain text and are base content (no comments, so flattening comments would be needed), there is a one click solution. The full manual process is only needed if you wish to have "hyperlinks" (IE, links that do not show the full URL). If you wish to process plain text and interpret/place link objects matching their content, you can do so with this button (on the home tab, right by the "add/edit links" tool):
