If we have a pdf document open and start to edit the document we always have a small font with black color.
Is there a way to change that font size and color and have the change be permanent?
Possibly we are using the product incorrectly but I do not think so.

Re: Editing -- font size and color
Hello DigitalPurchase,
When you are editing base content items - the information shown on the properties pane will be for whatever the text size was when the file was created. You can then need to select and change that as needed. There's no way for us to force a "default" for existing text.
If you are however using annotations - you can set up a default to be used for new annotations you create:
How do I set the default style of annotations in PDF-XChange?
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: Editing -- font size and color
Thank you.
We certainly are not experts in pdf documents and all the nuances.
Like most impatient people we took a 'form' and started to edit it to provide answers/data in the form instead of printing and filling it out by hand and then scanning. The concept of existing text did not occur to us.
We will explore annotations and see if they do what we want.

Hello DigitalPurchase,
If you are using the "Typewriter" tool to fill in your form - then that would fall in the "commenting" category, and the KB article from the above post should help you achieve your desired larger font size by default for that tool!
Kind regards,
Stefan

Thank you for your reply.
After your last reply we stumbled around and found the 'typewriter' feature and have tested it. Good feature and works as well as could be expected.
My personal suggestion is a small KB article or FAQ that discusses only "how to fill in a pdf form" or some such.
Unfortunately because of your inability to work with OpenVPN protocols in the forum and the lack of public KB or FAQ articles without a logon process we have eliminated your software from our evaluation.
I would encourage management rethink how you provide support.

Hello, DigitalPurchase
I am glad to hear that the Typewriter works as desired for this endeavor. I will look at creating a new KB article about Form filling for you, thank you for the suggestion!
