Good afternoon,
As a company we have pdf files stored in SharePoint. The PDF files needs to be commented and remarked. Before we're able to continue with our process. We're planning to use PDF-Xchange to make remarks and place stamps.
The problem right now we're facing, is not all users are able to use the function "open in URL" from PDF Xchange. Where I and several other users are presented with the correct PDF. Including the notification to modify or check out the pdf file for editing.
Other users are presented with a HTML file. I will add a screenshot of the top of the file in the attachment. The file itself is 67 pages. Where the normal PDF is just 13 pages.
This happens with several users. On all PDF files loaded from SharePoint.
We all use the standard installation. We did not add or remove any plugins or settings. We're on different versions depending on the time of installation.
Where should I start looking for any solution? Is it a PDF Xchange setting. Or a SharePoint setting?
From what I can see, while opening a PDF from SharePoint is the dialog boxes pass the login phase, and the last thing I can read passing by is 'converting PDF'. I hope this info is any usefull.
Kind regards,
Marnix

Hi Marnix,
welcome to the Tracker Forums. I am pleased to hear you are adopting the PDF-Change SharePoint integration.
The first thing to do is ensure that all users are on the current build, that is 9.5.366.0 as I type this.
If the issue is persistent with these users and the current version is confirmed, please have them set the SharePoint plugin to "Verbose Logging", reproduce the issue and send us the ensuing log files.
I recommend we use email or our file upload service for the logs so as to keep them confidential. They will have sensitive data in them. https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowle ... le-service
We have seen this before and resolved it, I am hopeful this just needs an update to the software. Keep me posted?

Thanks Marnix,
I have your log, and have passed it on for analysis.
For the benefit of those reading this thread, I asked in an email to test deleting any associated "Places" from the Editor and retest. We have seen in the past issues where the server side "Open in PDF-XChange" did this due to inconsistencies between the "Place" and that sent by the server side app. In those other cases, deleting old SharePoint "Places" resolved the issue and we are keen to know if the same works for you.

Re: Users presented with html page instead of PDF while opening from SharePoint
Hi Marnix,
when doing this, opening the SharePoint hosted document, how are your users copying the link? There are two possibilities, one can open the file in SharePoint and copy the URL from the browser address bar, or one can use the SharePoint feature to "Copy link":
The former is not expected to work, the latter is. Can you confirm your users are all using the "Copy Link" method in SharePoint? Copying the link from the address bar is not sufficient to pass what is needed by the Editor, we need the links generated by ""Copy Link".

Good morning Paul,
We tested all three options and none of them work.
Copy Link from top menu, same result, html page
Copy link form pop-up menu as posted in the screenshot, same result, html page
Copy the link from the address bar, same result, html page
Kind regards,
Marnix
