Feature request

Post by ChrisAlba »

I'm a translator and I often receive files to be translated or reference material as PDFs. I often need to export my PDFs to Word or to my OCR application in order to create an editable file.

My Pdf2word and my OCR applications are not going to integrate in PDFXV just yet, as they do in Abode's reader...

In PDFXV I'd love to find a sort of "open with..." option/button that would allow me to open the current file with my other tools in a couple of clicks.

Cheers

Hi Chris,

you can open in any other defined Windows PDF reader/application you have defined using the Icon in the very bottom right corner of your PDF-XChange Viewer window - but this is not user definable - they muct be known app's.

Also - this may or may not help - but if you have Abbyy Lingvo and some other well known translation tools installed (Translate It!, Babylon, Lingoes, and any other based on the same text extraction method) - if the text is already text in your PDF (i.e. not image based) - mouse over or some other application defined key combination should allow you to automatically use these tools to translate the text from with the PDF-XChange Viewer.

HTH
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Best regards

Wahoooooooooooo
Very neat.... I'll have to find out how I can add at least MS-Word and my OCR to that list...

As far as automatic translation tools are concerned.... I'm a "proper" translator
Those tools are not really able to provide publishable quality.
Keep my name handy for perfect translation into French
