Bug: Does not error when low on memory during printing

Post by Defenestration »

Not sure if this is a Viewer bug or printer driver bug, but...

I was printing a large 780 page PDF from the PDF-XChange Viewer to the PDF-XChange printer driver, and after 508 pages my system ran out of memory. Instead of displaying an error dialog and quitting the print job, the progress dialog just stayed on page 508. After about 5-10 minutes, I clicked Cancel but it did not cancel the job (well it hadn't cancelled it after a couple of minutes) so I ended up terminating the PDFXCview.exe process and the pdfSaver4.exe process.

This may have actually been due to a different problem I've just reported with there being too many files in the Temp folder.

There is bug with memory within the viewer with printing large and complex documents (it is not a memory leak, just the viewer does not currently free the memory used by page after printing; however the memory is freed after printing all pages).

This will be fixed in the next build - 2.037.
