I cannot view PDF's within Firefox. I'm running XP x64, but use the latest beta of the 32-bit version of Firefox (there is no official 64-bit version) installed by simply extracting the contents of a ZIP archive to a folder on my C: drive (ie. no installer is used).
After I enable Prefs->File Associations->Display PDF in Browser, then restart Firefox I cannot see the plugin listed in Firefox under Tools->Add-ons->Plugins. However, if I manually copy the file npPDFXCviewNPPlugin.dll to the Firefox plugins folder (in the FF program folder) and restart FF, I can see the plugin listed. However, I could not view PDF's in FF. I then also copied the file PDFXCviewAx.dll the the FF plugins folder but that didn't help.
I suspect that the plugin DLL's are the 64-bit version, which cannot be used by the 32-but version of Firefox, although this is a guess.
When I installed the latest version Adobe Reader, I had no problems viewing PDF's in FF. It had also copied the relevant plugin DLL to the correct folder (despite the fact I had never used an installer to install Firefox).
Cannot view PDF's in Firefox 3 beta on XP x64

After trying it again, it now attempts to load the file in the browser, but causes Firefox to crash. Not sure if this is Firefox's or PDF-XChange Viewer plugin fault.
FYI, you can get the same version of Firefox I am using (ie. latest beta/trunk) by downloading the ZIP file from
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... BOX-trunk/
