Tabs: Activated file after closing another file?

Post by Peter2 »

(a more sophisticated use-case ..)
----------------
Example:

- I have many files (20 ..) "A.pdf, B, C. D, " and drop them to the Editor.
- They are opened, the order of the tabs is based on something ...
- I click on the file-tabs: "Sort the tabs alphabetically"

Problem / Suggestion:
- When I close a file, it activates some another file (i don't know which).
- But usually when I'm working "alphabetically" it would be nice when the "next file" (closing file C -> file D) is activated. So I could avoid the searching and selecting of the "next file".

(So an option like "after closing, activate next file based on name / date / size" would be helpful..)

Hello, Peter2

When you close a file and other tabs are present in the window, the "last viewed" document in that window is focused. While we have seem a small number of requests to focus the next in sequence, to my knowledge we do not currently plan on changing this handling.
