UI Dark mode custom colors and keyboard shortcut [Suggestion]

Can you change the colors in "dark mode", or does it have to be the default colors?

It actually seems that "default" has to be enabled, which means that you can only change "light mode" colors of the UI, but not the "dark mode", which is important as I am using my AHK script to basically switch between dark mode / light mode of my whole system (all programs and Windows menus etc...) and PDF-xce would follow...

also as I mentioned in the other thread

adding a in built keyboard shortcut to just change between dark mode and light in PDF-xce itself however, without changing the whole system dark/light mode would be cool. So consider that a suggestion! It would probably be more quick and efficient than the AHK script which requires at least 5 seconds to change the mode by editing registry keys as far as I know.

Ok, that would be great.

However, you did not respond to my question about color change.

Can you change the dark mode UI-colors? Or will they always be preset ones? It seems you are only able to change the light mode colors (if you want PDF-xce to follow the system dark/light mode settings). (as seen in the screenshot above with the "allow dark mode" toggle next to "default" (uses system colors)

You can select e.g. the Black preset and then make changes to it. This will change the colour profile to a "custom" one. You can not edit the initial template.

yes but that would mean the black preset would always be on, and that there would be no "light"-mode when the system dark/light-mode is changed, right?

My apologies for missing that before. Yes that is correct. While the dark and light mode presets do exist, any manual modifications fall under a separate "custom" option, the "dark mode by system" option would only switch to the default dark mode, and would not retain any customizations (as they are wiped when you manually enable light mode). I cannot promise anything, but I will bring it up to see what we can do.
