In PDF-XChange Editor, for both comments and base content, the entire object is selected if any part of the object is inside the rectangular selection box. However, if the selection is limited to a shape of the base content, the object is not selected as intended when selected by dragging.
- Flattened rectangle comment
- Rectangle comment converted into four lines and flattened
- Three straight lines flattened
1. Flattened rectangle comment
- 1-1.
When you select a rectangle from the top down, the entire object is temporarily selected only when the selection frame overlaps the rectangle, but after that, the object is not selected unless you select the entire rectangle.
If the selection is extended from the middle to each of the upper and lower halves, the entire object is not selected when extended to the upper half, but only when extended to the lower half. The result is not symmetrical, even though the operation is supposed to be symmetrical.
2. Rectangle comment converted into four lines and flattened
- 2-1.
When the selection is made from the top down, the selection is asymmetrical. At the point of selection in the middle, why is only the top and right edge selected, but not the left edge?
If the selection is spread from the middle to the left and right halves, the result will be asymmetrical. Why is it that when extended to the left and beyond the left edge, the top edge is selected and not the left edge, but when extended to the right and beyond the right edge, the top edge is not selected and the right edge is selected?
- 3-1.
When the selection is made from the top down, the entire object is temporarily selected only when the selection frame overlaps the straight line, but not at other times.
If you drag-select from the left, the entire object is selected, but if you drag-select from the right, nothing is selected.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
