Escape Functions?
I see no mention of the Escape Functions in the v4 PDF-XChange Drivers API SDK help file. Have these been dropped from the drivers?

Hi,
yes they have indeed - please see the help file/PDF manual and examples for more detailed info on the functions now available and the method of use.

Sorry to hear that. I did read the PDF/help file and saw the mention of dropping support for Windows 9x/ME/NT, but oddly no mention of dropping the Escape functions. Since our generic C app doesn't use ActiveX, the Escape functions were the ideal way for us to communicate with the driver.
This puts us in a bit of a bind, since we can't really keep shipping the 3.x drivers (given that you've announced termination of support for them), and we can't switch to the 4.x drivers without completely redeveloping our interface and then releasing it simultaneously with the driver update. Argh.

I dont understand why you cannot continue to ship the V3 drivers - there is over 6 years of developemet in them and they are very stable.
I appreciate there will be no further development etc - but there is a lot of life left in them yet and they are W95-> Vista 64 compatible and we continue to allow even new V4 users to download and use (there V4 serial is V3 compatible) if they need W95-> NT compatibility - so we obviously think there is a lot of value in them for many users.
You could do a lot worse !
