Open session dual screen laptop SOLVED
I discovered something interesting you might want to fix.
Display 1 is the primary display
Display 2 is the bottom secondary display
(that's the way it is configured in Windows 10)
When I have only one PDF-xce window in the secondary display, and I open the session window, the pop-up window appears in the correct display/monitor (display 2), but when I open a session (the first option), the Window is moved to the top screen (display 1)
At first I thought sessions remember which display the window was saved in, but then I tried saving a new session with the PDF-xce window being in display 2, and when loading it it would still appear in display 1, basically "loading" the session into the wrong display, not the same one the program is already in.
Is this the intended behavior? That it gets shifted into the primary display?

Re: Open session dual screen laptop
Hello MedBooster,
I'm also on a Laptop with two monitors but it seems that in my case it loads on the second monitor ( the correct one in my case)!
Could you please give us more details about your laptop and the second monitor( make, model, etc.. )?
Also, please confirm if you are using the latest version of the PDF Editor which is 10.1.3.383.
Regards.

Hi, Medbooster
for me it is always restoring the session on the screen it was saved on, like your assumption that it remembers it's screen position when the session is saved. I believe that is the intended behaviour. I tried a number of variations and it doers seem to ne to be correctly restoring the sessions I tested to their original screen each time.
If this is reproducible, perhaps you can do so with a few small sample files, a saved session file and send them to us and I can test the same ones here?
Kind regards,
Paul - Tracker Supp

So I've heard that the issue with having an internal display like this.... actually means that Lenovo's software is what separates the display into two displays, and that on a hardware level it is technically 1 display.
So maybe that is what it is....

Re: Open session dual screen laptop
Hello, MedBooster
That could certainly be an issue. It should be possible to disable Lenovo's utility managing this, to allow windows to properly consider the monitors as separate devices. Could you try disabling that application, and then create a new session, and see what happens when you load it in the same conditions?

Look at the first screenshot, most likely Windows already sees it as two displays.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 6:05 pm Hello, MedBooster

In Anki (digital flashcard software) it actually opens in the secondary display as well. So maybe things like these are to be expected with such new tech.

I guess that is true.
If you could, please provide us with the details we asked about earlier, in case our developers decide to investigate this case.

Is there a limit to the maximum amount of displays? Should session actually remember the exact position of all windows if you have .. let's say 4 displays?Dimitar - Tracker Supp wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 9:36 am I guess that is true.

Yes I am using version 383 now.
Lenovo yoga book 9i. Dual screen laptop.
This is happening regardless of what monitor I might have connected, and regardless of what PDFs I am opening.
However... it is working now with these settings! Hurray, so maybe it was just a coincidence or bug in the previous version.
What was important was disabling "keep current position of the active window", because if you have that enabled the windows will appear over each other, not even fully expanded.

Hello MedBooster,
Happy to hear it's now working for you, and to answer the earlier post as well - no I do not think that the number of screens connected to the machine should have any effect!
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: Open session dual screen laptop
That's why PDF-xce is so great, imagine having 20 displays and the software being able to remember the exact window position of 100 PDFs.. hmm food for thoughtTracker Supp-Stefan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 10:20 am Hello MedBooster,
