Remove annotations with the Eraser Tool

Hi,

It will be great to have the ability to remove Text markup (highlight, strikeout...) with the Eraser Tool.

I use a stylus for Text markup and the long press > Delete action is not the best for productivity.

For your reference, it's possible in Microsoft Edge and Drawboard PDF.

Hi,

The eraser should also be able to remove Drawing or Measure annotations... as well.

I mean, not only Text markup but any annotations (post title edited)

It will be definitely a game changer for stylus productivity.

Hi,

I heard from a Stefan reply that a new build 387 is planned for this month.
I'm not expecting much new features but it will be great if you can implement this in that update.

Hello Loki@99,

Yes that new build will mostly be for fixing some bugs, and not many new things will be added. Usually when a ticket is resolved we get notified, and would post an update in the forum topic as well. The above one #6903 is not yet resolved, so it is not likely that this feature will be added to the upcoming build.

as I understand it the specifications limit it to pencil tool annotations.

You can always use the Comments Pane" to quickly access and delete comments.

Rather than a partial/entire stroke complex erasing feature, what I mean with this feature request is to simply mimic the delete action to give an experience similar to what Drawboard PDF, PDF Annotator already offer.

The main reason of this topic is that I managed to improve PDFXCE stylus and touch experience by adding Annotations tools and the Eraser Tool on Quick Tools.

As @darkseid358 said, having that feature in PDFXCE will be fantastic

I have added a note, the ticket number remains the same, but now specifically references all annotation types instead of exclusively text annots.

+1. This would be a great feature to have. There was a comment on reddit that linked me to this feature request page. Would be an awesome addition to workflow and visualization while working through PDFs on touch devices.

(Also, you guys are amazing. You've created a fantastic product that I've become a true devotee to in the past two years. I used PDF-Xchange viewer on and off from some ten years - but I had never kept it installed. It always lacked the ease of use and "fluidity" of [certain other software]. But boy, oh, boy... You've truly made the Blender of PDF readers since the last couple of years. I read a lot and the accesbility features are a heaven send. This is a truly awesome product and I hope all of you wonderful people who've made this gem have a lovely evening. Cheers!)

ultimately the decision whether to implement this feature will be in the hands of the development team leader, as will be it's priority.

We will have to see how this plays out.

We do appreciate the feedback and seeing what level of demand a given request gets, so thanks for the input here.
