Change PDF to Text?

Hi, as a new member I have just recently downloaded and begun to use the free PDF-XChange Viewer. I am a novice to using PDF files and would like to find out how to edit a PDF document and then print it out. I guess to do this it first requires changing (converting) the PDF document to text, like a Word document. Is that what they call HTML maybe?

I have been working with the PDF-XChange Viewer for a few days and have found how to use the "comment and markup tools" somewhat. But I don't know how to convert it so I can remove some of the original document's wording, insert different wording, and then print it out with the changes made. I don't know where to go for plug-ins for this or whatever is necessary. Could someone tell me how to be able to do this? Thanks

The PDf-XChange Viwer dos not allow you to actually modify existing text - the best you can do is use th Text Box Tool to add a text box over the current text with a similar background and 'cover' up the old text with new.

If you really want to edit a PDF - the only really genuine means to truly provide this functionality is to convert it to a common Word editor format (such as MS Word) and edit that and then re-convert it to PDF - the PDF format was never designed to act as a text editor format in the true sense.

To do the above - I would suggest you look at a product like Abbyy's PDFTransformer (http://www.pdftransformer.com) which comes bundled with our own PDF-XChange to re-convert to PDF.
