I was able to download it (Dimitar, you should try again). When I perform the search suggested by Jensen, it gets hung up at the 74% mark (it takes less than 30 seconds to get to 74%).

One thing to note is that the file is 165.99 MB and 135.37 MB are fonts.

I am unable to reproduce this on my end. The search completes correctly for me - with all the same options turned on as in Jensens original post. It takes about 30 seconds on my machine (Win 11, all updates, Build 387 of the 64 bit Editor).

I am not sure how you guys are getting these results. "terror from the deep" isn't in that document as far as I can tell.

I can search the document in under 20 seconds, even with it on a network share, not a local file..

Looking at the settings screen from the original posting, it looks to me like you are searching the entire folder F:\Literasy and it's sub folders.

Am I missing something here?

I also have PDFX Pro. I just tried it again and the search got hung up at 74%.

Jensen Head was searching a bunch of files in a folder. However, I'm not. I'm just searching the file he shared in the OP.

we have isolated the cause. We will fix it. As a work around try turning off "Detect Tables in Text" from the "Page Text" category of the Editor preferences:

That's right, I'm looking for all documents in the specified folder that contain this phrase.

I couldn't reproduce the error with the same file and the same search settings in PDF-XChange Editor 10.7.6, build 404.
