Hi,
first, thanks for the great product!
Now, the problem:
A colleague of mine annotated my PDF document which I have sent him using PDF Xchange Viewer. Now, when I try to open the new PDF with Acrobat 8.1, then I get the error
"Cannot extract the embedded font 'MXISQV+NimbusRomNo9L-Medi'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."
Then, many characters are shown as dots.
When I open the document in PDF XChange Viewer (just updated to 2.0 Build 39), those characters are shown as some kind of symbols, some of them definitely Greek.
The changed characters are within the original text, not the annotations. I think all of the wrongly shown characters are had some formatting attributes like bold, italic, and so on.
Do you have any hint on how I can resolve this problem so that my colleague and I can collaborate flawlessly together using this set up?
I can send you the PDF to a private email address if that helps.
Many thanks,
Jogg

Re: Problems with embedded fonts in annotated PDF
I too see a problem with 2.0 build 39. Just printing a PDF Creater test page and viewing with PDF-XChange shows odd characters. The 'Windows XP Printer Test Page' text appears fine across the top of the page, but all the text below about the printer driver and such is odd characters. If I select the text, and choose to copy as plain text, I see in a basic text editor that the text is indeed correct ... PDF-XChange is having some difficulty displaying it. If I open the same file with Adobe Readers, it's just fine.
I can send you the PDF Creater test page if you wish?
Update:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The above problem was occuring with 2.0 Build 39, RC1. Having now updated to RC2, all is working fine.

An Update is available (uploaded today) which should resolve this problem for you, however - you cannot use the 'Help - Check for Updates' option.
You must download the full install from this page and install :
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/downloads/users/
Hope that helps

Re: Problems with embedded fonts in annotated PDF
Thanks for your quick reply.
I installed the new version by uninstalling first and then the newest one. But it did not resolve my particular problem.
My PDF is not meant for the public. I can send it to you via private email but I don't want to attach it to the forum. Thanks for your understanding.
Best,
Jogg
