Pictures are sliced in pieces

When I create a PDF with the Office Add-In in Word some of the images within the created PDF document are horizontally sliced into two pieces. Not all pictures but some of them.
I changed the printer mode from "GDI" to "XPS", and it got better, but there are still a few pictures that are sliced.
How can I prevent this?
Thanks in advance.

Recently, there was a similar question : viewtopic.php?t=44578
Still under investigation it seems.

(Temporary) Work-around:

In PDF-XChange Editor, open the Word-document itself via File > Open > Browse, next, in the "Open Files"-dialog-box, at the right of "File Name", make sure to select "MS Word document" or "All Supported Files" instead of PDF-documents, then select the Word-document and click the "Open"-button. The Word-document will automatically be converted to PDF (this can take a while).
Large pictures will not be sliced in pieces by using this method.

Hello,

If there is also a conversion to a special PDF sub-format, than I think this applies (The case as it was from the post Willy linked):
TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 11:57 pm I have discussed this with our Lead developer, and it seems that I was wrong in my initial statement. During conversions to special formats, in cases where there are specific "rules" about the content type, sometimes the Editor is able to convert items in this way. Looking at this file, and you mention of PDF/X-1a specifically, it seems that some part of these image/shape objects cannot be retained in their original format during the conversion, forcing a rasterization and split for conformance reasons.

We will investigate if this is strictly necessary in this case, and make adjustments where possible for a future release. For now, I am afraid that this is simply a part of the PDF/X-1a conversion (and may also happen in other special format conversions).
If instead this issue is happening when simply printing to a normal PDF format, it is possible that the issue is caused by the printing application sending the information to us in this way.
Many apps will try to make a document more "bite sized" since most physical printers struggle when particularly large single objects exist in the print data, and sadly, there is no way to identify to third party apps that the selected printer is "virtual" and will not experience those issues.

If you can send us a copy of the original file, and the printed output, as well as a screenshot of your applications print dialog/settings, we can try to reproduce the issue and identify there the break happens. If it is something on our end, maybe it can be addressed.

Kind regards,

Hello,
thanks for the reply. I send as an attachement a Word testfile (I added a ".pdf"-extension in order to upload the file), a PDF produced by PDF-XChange, my printer settings and another PDF, created with Acrobat
Thanks in advance.

Hello, flixx

Thank you for the files, I see the same though the issue is even less pronounced on my end (I manually separated the only split in the file on my end after printing)

I have shown the Dev team, and they were also able to reproduce it, so we now have a ticket for the issue in place for its resolution:
RT#7260: Bug: print from word - images are split, both GDI and XPS
Note that this is an internal ticket number, so if you are ever looking for an update, please cite the ticket number above, and any member of our support team will be able to look into it.

Kind regards,
