Says "(Secured)" in title, but PDF has no security???

Post by sin_of_nature »

Hi,

This is probably me being stupid, but I cant work out why this is happening. A client has asked for the number 2 to changed to a number 1 in the PDF. They dont have the master doc so I assumed PDF-XChange Viewer would be able to do this. I can highlight the 2 but I cant change it.

When the document is opened, I get (Secured) added to the filename in the title. However, when I check the document security options, it says no security is set. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong.

Screenshot attached (in zip)

[UPDATE] There seems to be multiple passwords you can assign to a PDF. A user and an owner (or something like that). When I tried loading it into Serif PagePlus X2, it triggered a password box so there IS a password on it (which is obviously why Viewer marked the document as 'Secured'). However, how do you enter the password so I can edit the document in Viewer?

Based on the screen shot shown it appears your are using our viewer, security settings are not an available option with the viewer.

If you require this option you would need to upgrade your product to either PDF-XChange Standard or PDF-XChange PRO
