Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble activating PDF-XChange Editor Plus on a new device. I’m using a Single User License.
I’ve already deactivated the license on the old device, both locally and via the official website. However, when I enter the Serial Key on the new device, the "Activate" option stays grayed out or doesn’t respond at all.
What’s strange is that using the same SK on the old device worked just fine — activation was possible right after entering the key.
Has anyone encountered this issue before?
Is there a waiting period after deactivation, or maybe some additional step I’m missing? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Hello, F121p,
Welcome to our forum.
Does the PDF editor add DEMO stamps to your documents when you edit them?
Also, did you install the version, listed on your account?

Re: Activation issue on new device – PDF-XChange Editor Plus – Single User License
Hi, thanks for getting back to me!
Yes, when I try to edit a document, I receive a message saying there's no valid license and that a DEMO stamp will be added. So it seems the license isn’t being recognized correctly.
As for the version — I believe I'm using the correct one listed on my account.
One key difference between the two computers appears in the license activation window Preferences:
On the old device, the Key State shows as Valid
On the new device, it shows as Expired, with a link to "Renew..." that redirects to the Maintenance Extension Options page:
Product: PDF-XChange Editor Plus
License: Single User License
EXPIRED – The maintenance period for this license key ended on July 20, 2024
Thanks again for your support!

Re: Activation issue on new device – PDF-XChange Editor Plus – Single User License
Hello, F121p
If you are seeing the message that the key is expired, you unfortunately have not installed the correct version. You will want to remove all of our software from your new device, then head to your account page directly and download/run the installer presented there.
If you run into further issues after trying that, and given that this relates directly to your license key, it will probably be best to move over to email, as our forum rules prohibit sharing license keys in a public space (we do not want to have to revoke the key because it was posted publicly)
Could I ask you to please contact us by email Support@PDF-XChange.com With a link to this forum post, and the first ~15 characters of your license key? We should then be able to locate your account and identify the correct version of the software which you should be using.
Kind regards,
