Misaligned pdf cannot be uploaded

Post by RSpelman »

How can I fix "misalignment"? I have made a new pdf, flattened the annotations, deskewed the document. What else can I do?

Hello RSpelman,

No other command would be able to easily and freely change the rotation angle directly at the page level. However, the following two methods might be worth trying.

Method #1
  • The first method is to use the Overlay feature to overlay the desired document on an empty document. If you look at the Overlay dialog box, you will notice that there is an option to specify the rotation angle. Considering that the results can be checked in advance on the preview screen, I definitely recommend this method over the second one.
Method #2
  • The second method is to specify the angle using the Transform feature, as in the following procedure.
    1. Enable Edit Objects mode
    2. Open the Contents pane, select the target page, and select all the base content present on that page.
    3. Execute the Transform command from the Arrange tab.
    4. Set the Rotation.
If you assign shortcut keys to the Transform command and represent all these steps as scripts using autohotkey or similar tool, you may be able to automate this to some extent.
Best regards,
rakunavi

Hello,

Might I ask where exactly you are seeing this error message? I ask this because the error sounds familiar to me, if this is a case of it being send to a government or corporate entity, this kind of message may often be a bit of a misnomer. In many cases, this is a generic message that simple means the file is damaged in some way that prevents it from passing their site's test, and has no relation to the actual page orientation, or other such values in place. In effect, it can often mean that the internal "data" of the file is what is "misaligned", not necessarily any visual aspects.

If you can provide us with a screenshot of the error, and a more details description of how you manipulated the file in general, and a copy of the document (it would also help to have a copy of the original blank file for comparison), this may help us to identify the error they are detecting and offer a solution to it. If the file contains sensitive information, please send it by email to Support@PDF-XChange.com, with a direct link to this forum post, so we can pass it along to the Dev team for quick review.

As a potential temporary workaround, assuming the document does not contain any necessary Fillable form fields, and does not strictly need to be text searchable, you could print a copy of it to one of our PDF-XChange printers, and see if that allows you to upload it.
