Pan & Zooming thru intelimouse feature

Post by cdeming »

Is it possible to configure the pan/zoom functions to operate thru the roller/scroll control in my mouse? can it be configured similar to other programs such as Microsoft streets and trips or AutoCAD where you can zoom by simply scrolling the roller and pan by holding down on the roller and moving the mouse?

I work with large format drawings that require zoom variances in maginfication from 500% to 25% and back again at a moment’s notice to validate orientation and navigate floor plans and drawings without getting lost in the framework. The current zoom feature, although helpful, does not always adjust smoothly and often over compensates when trying to adjust up or down the magnification. Additionally, journeying to the tool bar while navigating between pan and Zoom functions can be time consuming and cumbersome and often interrupts the flow putting you back to square one,(where am I and where was I going?).

If your viewer had a check box allowing this feature in the preferences you would be miles ahead of the other grade b viewer that starts with an "a". They seem to have a fading concept of our market and where it is going or how to get there, where you ask?

Paperless!

Craig

You can, of course, zoom with Control + Scroll-wheel, but I expect that you have tried that and found it a cause of RSI if you do a lot of it.

Try using the Loupe Tool instead. You can resize the loupe window and move it up to a corner, and drag the loupe tool around to pan around the drawing very easily. Drag the slider on the loupe window to zoom in/out.

Use the customize feature to assign a shortcut to the tools, for quickly switching to/from other tools. I use Ctrl Space for the Hand Tool, Shift L for the Loupe Tool, and z for the Pan and Zoom tool.
