[suggestion] Add automatic filling of metadata for eBooks

Post by Jensen Head »

Google can tell you the author, title of the book, and year of the first edition based on a fragment of text from the middle of a book. And based on the image of the first page, it can also tell you the publisher and year of the publication. In the context of requests to add the functionality of searching for similar documents and an online function for using neural networks [1, 2], could you consider adding a function similar to the use of API services such as FreeDB and MusicBrainz by music catalogers? That is, based on the image of the first page, the number of pages, the presence of a ISBN on the first or last pages, random exact quotes from the middle of the book, already filled in (presumably known to the user) metadata — fill / update the basic metadata of the document.

Hello, Jensen Head

To date there have been a number of discussions with reference to use of neural networks and the like in various scenarios.
However, I cannot currently confirm whether or not there is anything coming to this are in the foreseeable future.
