Currently, there are options to automatically move successfully processed documents to a user-specified folder. I suggest considering the ability for the user to specify a source file subfolder where successfully processed files will be moved. This would be an acceptable alternative to adding suffixes.
You may object that the documents may be from different folders, and it is unclear which folder should be taken as the "root" for creating subfolders. But PDF-Tools already has a setting "Use source folder as destination" in the Action "Save Documents", the presence of which suggests that in case of combining source documents from different locations, PDF-Tools knows which folder will be the "root" for this Tool. And the lack of sorting in the Action application is not a problem.
It makes sense that this option could also be added for the "Unsuccessfully processed files" category, since it is more convenient to sort out problematic files separately when they are located close to their original location, without being mixed with files from other uses of this tool, without having to specify this manually each time.
