Feature request: Option to configure start path of File>Open dialogue to directory of the active tab's file

Post by chrkuhlmann »

PDF-XChange Editor already has a very useful option to set the 'Save As' dialog's default path either to that of the most recently saved file, the current directory of the file, or a fixed location.

I'd like to request a similar option for the 'File'>'Open' dialogue, where the dialogue can start either at
  • the directory of the file in the currently active tab
  • the directory of the most recently opened file (as it is now)
With the first option it would be much faster to open a document that belongs to the current one (and has a high probability of being in the same folder or not far from it). Many text editors use this method for their open dialogues, so many users are already familiar with such a behavior or find it useful.

The fixed location setting is already available using the 'Open from' button.

Thanks for considering.

Kind regards,
Christian

Hello, chrkuhlmann

Thank you for the suggestion, I have brought this to the attention of the Dev team, we need only wait and see if they accept the proposal.
