PDF-XChange 4 and MS Terminal Server (Windows 2003)
Hello,
my potential client asked me for one detail about PDF-XChange 4 and Terminal Server.
He installed version trial PDF-XChange Pro 4 on terminal server Windows 2003 Server
and on client's station Vista Business Pro he installed PDF-XChange Standard 4.
After connection to Terminal Server, he can see printer PDF-XChange 4.
He wants to print to PDF by terminal server from client and he wants to save PDF file on client's station (as normal printer).
If he print to PDF, it open dialogue window for saving PDF on server, but he wants to save PDF file on client's station.
Do you know how to do it? He is satisfied with PDF-XChange 4, but it is only one problem....
Many thanks for your help.
Martin

I suspect Martin - it is defaulting to the users TS profile default folder and this is the way the user has set up TS - I do not know TS well - but I suspect this is a TS setting.
What happens if for example the user selects to save a Word file - where does this default to ?

Hi,
my potential client tested competitor's applications for printing to PDF and he hasn't problems - only with PDF-XChange 4. He used czech build 4.00148.
Do you know where is problem? Is it possible to analyze this problems?
Many thanks. Martin

Hi,
my potential client says that it is not same as virtual printer. He uses competitor's virtual printer for creating PDF files and there is OK. Problem is only with printing by PDF-XChange. He wants to save PDF file on client's station, but it is possible only on terminal server

If user can write any file to your local computer from TS session, he can use PDF-XChange to write PDF files too.
What he need, is to set correct path on the Save page of PDF-XChange driver.

Re: PDF-XChange 4 and MS Terminal Server (Windows 2003)
I am not sure if you understand me, because my potential client says me that dialogue window (Save page) opens only on Server, but on client station not
So If he prints to PDF from client station by PDF-XChange driver installed on Server, he can't save PDF file. If he prints from client station, he can save PDF file only on Server....
I think that if he prints PDF file on client station, he wants to open Save page (dialogue window) on client station too. My English is not good, but I hope that it is clear.
What Save page did you mean? Did you mean window Save as .. ?
Thanks
