RT#7598: Bug: Layer default Visibility and printing error

Post by rakunavi »

Hello all,

The sample file contains two text box comments, each assigned to Layer A and Layer B, respectively. The properties of each layer are set as follows. Please note that neither text box comment is displayed on the screen in the initial state.

  • figure1.png
  • sample.pdf
After opening this sample file, if no other settings are changed, the text box comment assigned to Layer B on the right side will be displayed in the print preview in PDF-XChange Editor and will actually be printed when printed. Incidentally, in Adobe Acrobat, nothing is displayed in the print preview, and nothing is printed when actually printed.

The decision mechanism in Layer A can be considered in the following three stages.
  1. The Default State is Off.
  2. In response to the State being Off, Visibility becomes disabled.
  3. In response to Visibility being disabled, Print becomes disabled.
In contrast, the decision mechanism in Layer B can be considered in the following two stages.
  1. Since Visibility is Never, Visibility becomes disabled regardless of the Default State setting.
  2. In response to Visibility being disabled, Print becomes disabled.
Based on this understanding, it seems that Acrobat's behavior of not printing both layers A and B reflects the settings appropriately.

Hoping that the above information will be of some help to you.
Thank you so much for your continued support.

Best regards,
rakunavi
