The issue reported below has been resolved in Ver 10.7.0 build 398.
I appreciate all the hard work and efforts of the support and development team.
==============================================================================
Hello all,
I noticed that when using the “Create Links From Bookmarks” function, enabling “Match text pattern” and specifying a pattern such as “.*” causes the application to hang and become unresponsive.
Please refer to the following verification procedure for details. The corresponding timecode in the video is also included. ([MM:SS] "MM" shows minutes, and "SS" shows seconds.)
- [00:09] Create a bookmark with any content.
[00:13] Open the "Create Links from Bookmarks" dialog, enable the "Mark text pattern" option, and enter “.*” in the pattern field from the context menu or keyboard.
[00:18] Confirm that the application is not responding to any operations.
[00:35] When you try to close the application from the Windows taskbar, a file save dialog box appears, and at first glance, it appears that the application has been closed.
[00:46] Launch PDF-XChange Editor again. It will take tens of seconds for it to launch.
[01:11] Close the application, open the taskbar, and confirm that the PDF-XChange Editor process remains.
[01:21] Delete the remaining PDF-XChange Editor process, then launch PDF-XChange Editor and confirm that the application launches immediately.
Of course, this issue does not occur if you do not specify special regular expressions such as “. *”. However, some developers might consider it important to develop applications that operate robustly regardless of the input values, so I am reporting this for your reference.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
Best regards,
rakunavi
