Freshly installed Pdf-Xchange editor silently quits

I have a licensed copy of Pdf-XChange running on one Windows 11 pro Laptop. Now I have a new machine. Installed Pdf-XChange, as free version because I didn't manage to enter the license information correctly. Then I double-clicked the license file and got a success notification. Upon starting Pdf-XChange I saw a red bar on top of the window that there is a new license that needs to be activated. Before I can do anything, the program window just disappears.
What's wrong?

If the silent closing correlates with trying to open a PDF document, it is most likely a crash caused by an improperly installed (or missing) copy of the latest VCRedist from microsoft. Please download and install the VC Redistributable pack from Microsoft's site: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/w ... w=msvc-170

The next release of our software will include the necessary VCRedist installers, to ensure that this is no longer a problem.

Can you please try this and see if that rectifies the issue for you?
