Because there's absolutely no reaction on four e-mails to "'pdfxview@tracker-software.com", I post my problem here:

I have experienced the following problem(s) with the PDF-XChange Viewer:

When selecting my HP LJ 2015dn Printer, the paper format is DIN A4.
When selecting my NGR MPC 2500 printer with the same doc loaded, the page format is changed to 8,5" x 13", without any reason. I have to go into the printer settings and select A4 manually, then it works only for this doc ...

The doc format in fact is A4 and not 8,5"x13".

The problem does not occur, when the MPC2500 is set as defaukt printer!

BTW, this MPC2500 is made by RICOH. The problem does not depend on the version of the printer driver and does occur in PDFXchange *only*.


Any idea?

I attached an A4 PDF as well as some screenshots.

Hallo support, anything new regarding the reported behaviour?

My very first e-mail about this bug is from 22nd of Sept and there's absolutely no response ... :(

Fix will be available into build 40 of the viewer. This build will be available in a week about.

The problem is still there (see screenshots attached). I have to go into the printer papter settings an click on "standard" to set paper size to A4 (even the pdf is A4).

BUT, when I set the scaling option "reduce to printer margins", the A4 document will be "reduced" to 100% (!!!) and the paper size will be A4, even for my MPC2500 printer. Strange behaviour, as *workaround* ok, but I think, you have to have a further look at the new printing engine once more. (I didn't test this scaling option with the former release of PDF-XChange, so maybe it works there, also).

BTW, is there any possibiliy to provide this as default settings for all users of a PC (eg .ini-file in the apps folder, etc)? Otherwise I have to set it for each user inidividually by hand ...

Please keep me informed regarding this bug.

Unfortunately the "workaround" seems not to work for all PDFs as you can see in the attached screenshot. I also attached the PDF itself. PDF-XChange sets the paper to C5-format ... :-(

So a real fix is still needed.

Fixed. Trouble was because RICOH reports not exact size for A4 paper.

The "new" beta (still build 40.3) from 2:59 pm (https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... 276#p22272) does not fix it, doesn't it? Same problem a with the build from this morning ...

yes. in the updated package only the shell extension plugin is updated.

Hallo,

is a new beta already available, including the mentioned fix? I think, it would be best, to provide the beta-releases as portable releases first, because this way it's easier to test them in productive environment.

The full build 40 will be released tomorrow.

The reason the portable is no the primary beta and cannot be is that it would not test all options/configurations as the installed version does - which is still by far the most popular.
