Hi,
i. I reaslise from a quick search that this was meantioned in older thread, but would like to ask if someone discovered a workaround for the view (non-portable version) to retain the menu / toolbar settings?
ii. What is the correct entry for PDF-Xchange in the MIME type programme for Opera? I do not use Firefox or IE. Specifically for lauching from Opera via WINE. I want it to launch externally and not inside the browser.
Many thanks for an excellent product that beats Adobe PDF reader hands down. They ought to start taking notes.
Best wishes, S.

Wine in topic's title means you use viewer under Linux?
Can you describe your problem in more detail please?i. I reaslise from a quick search that this was meantioned in older thread, but would like to ask if someone discovered a workaround for the view (non-portable version) to retain the menu / toolbar settings?
Because the viewer works with PDF files, it uses PDF's MIME type: application/pdfii. What is the correct entry for PDF-Xchange in the MIME type programme for Opera? I do not use Firefox or IE. Specifically for lauching from Opera via WINE. I want it to launch externally and not inside the browser.

Also:
The external launching PDF from Opera is not possible in current realization.
We cannot reproduce this for Windows->Opera, and will check this for Wine->Opera. Thanks.i. I reaslise from a quick search that this was meantioned in older thread, but would like to ask if someone discovered a workaround for the view (non-portable version) to retain the menu / toolbar settings?
You can try set option 'Preferences->File Associations->Display in Browsers' in PDF-XChange Viewer application for allow opening PDF documents by Wine->Opera. This method in Windows->Opera works properly. We will check it for Wine->Opera also..ii. What is the correct entry for PDF-Xchange in the MIME type programme for Opera? I do not use Firefox or IE. It works with Windows. Only fails using Wine.
> Preferences->File Associations->Display in Browsers':
Opera is unlisted.
However, this is not a problem because i) I do not want it to display in the browser. I only ever wish it to lauch the programme externally and this works in the Portable version which I now use, but with the installable version.
My only problem now it launching it from GNOME.

Re: Wine - PDF viewer looses menu layout setting & Opera MIME
As a workaround I decided to:
Use the Portable version as the reader from Opera because this works unlike the installable versions and,
Use the Installable version as the default PDF file association for double clicking on PDF files withing GNOME.
Of course, I hope for too much
Results: Portable version works fine for being called from Opera.
Installable version installs, but the File Associations button from Preferences entitled: Make default PDF viewer does not work anymore, which is a great shame. Double clicking on the PDF opens which ever was the default in Gnome afore and not the PDF-Xchange

To be honest, PDF-XChange was not designed to work under WINE.

Indeed. Very true.
Many people have changed their O/S to Linux and the demand for Linux applications is much strong. Those who wrote excellent programmes for Windows often see end-users attempting to run these on Linux with WINE.
Your application does have its own entry in the winehq database, which says something. How about porting it to Linux?
Simon.
