Inconsistencies in application behavior when processing image files with different horizontal and vertical resolutions

Hello all,

Image files output from devices like fax machines may have different horizontal (x-dpi) and vertical (y-dpi) resolutions. In PDF-XChange Editor, support for handling these files varies by feature, as shown below. While opportunities to handle such files are rare, it would be ideal if consistent processing could be achieved across the entire application in the future.

• Export feature in the "Export to Image(s)" dialog
• "Image to PDF" feature
  (File Tab > New Document > From Images / Organize Tab > Insert Menu > Insert Images...)
• "Overlay" feature
  (Organize Tab)
• "Add Image" feature
  (Home Tab > Add Menu > Add Image... / Create Custom Stamp > From File...)
• "Add Logo from File" feature
  (OCR Pages dialog > Manage Logo options)
• "Select Icon" feature
  (Form Tab > Push Button Properties > Options > Up Icon)

Not supported

• "Watermarks" feature
  (Organize Tab)
  • AddWatermark.png
• "Background" feature
  (Organize Tab)
  • AddBackground.png
• Preview in the "Export to Image(s)" dialog
  • ExportToImage.png
• Preview in the "Edit Image" dialog (Edit Objects mode > Edit Image)
  (*) Note that this applies only when the “Ignore Display Transformations” option is enabled.
