Hello all,
In the “Resize Pages” dialog, the following three options can be selected from the “Skip pages” dropdown:
- None
- Larger than specified
- Smaller than specified
The “
than” in the second and third option labels naturally implies that pages with the exact same size as the specified paper size
will be excluded in the “Skip pages” and will instead be processed by the “Resize Pages” feature. However, based on actual behavior, pages of the size set in Paper Size
are included in the “Skip pages”. This indicates a discrepancy between the option labels and the actual behavior.
Therefore, two possible approaches are considered:
- Change the option labels to match the current behavior.
- Change the current behavior to match the option labels.
Considering the use cases for the “Resize Pages” feature, it seems preferable to include cases where the page size matches the specified paper size within the scope of the feature's application, rather than excluding them. Therefore, pages of the size set in Paper Size
should be excluded in the “Skip pages”, and I personally believe the second approach—“Change the current behavior to match the option labels”—is preferable.
The following dialog shows the behavior when the original document's page size is A4, the paper size is set to the same A4, and “Larger than specified” is selected for “Skip pages”. Since both the document page size and paper size are A4 and the document page size is not “Larger
than specified” paper size, it should not be skipped. However, the preview shows that it is being skipped.
Hoping that the above information will be of some help to you.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
Best regards,
rakunavi
