Version 10.7.6.404 will not install

Version 10.7.6.404 will not install
I am currently running 10.7.3.401. Version 10.7.6.404 will download and say it's installed, but when you go back to the updates screen, it remains in the available column with the older version installed. It doesn't matter if the program is running or not when I click "install." Thank you.

Most commonly this will occur due to overlapping installations of our software, such as if you have mistakenly installed the Editor, and PDF-Tools, or the PRO bundle (both of which also include the Editor software). If you have installed conflicting versions, the numbers the updater sees may not line up and can cause trouble with future updates.
Even if an installation conflict is not the root cause, the same steps to resolve the issue are advised, please see below.
To rectify this, please open the windows control panel (DO NOT use any third party removal tools) and uninstall all of the software you have published by "PDF-XChange" or "Tracker-Software".
After you have done so, please restart the PC to ensure that the removal cleanup is properly completed by Windows. Then head to our website to download and install only the one product package which your license is able to cover - this is available from your account page while you have active maintenance: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/login
Ensure when running the installer, that you do not choose to "run as admin" from the context menu. Allow the installer to run as a normal user - It will request elevation when/if necessary. Doing it this way ensures that our folders are created with the proper permissions.
