Lost Enhanced OCR Engine

Post by OC_there_you_R »

Paying customer here with a valid license (who is becoming increasingly frustrated with my inability to use this product's OCR capability.

Per this:
image.png
... I should have an entitlement with this license to use the Enhanced OCR Plugin described on https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/ocr-plugin

In my Preferences > OCR menu options, I only see a greyed out default OCR engine.

But after a few hours of googling, ChatGPT'ing, and otherwise enpulping my forehead against the keyboard... I am still unable to get anything less than gibberish from the (presumably default) OCR I'm apparently locked down to.

What am I doing wrong? I need to be able:

a) reliably scan My documents and extract text from them
b) to do so without having to rely upon a cloud-based resource that will happily extract that text and thus feed even more of my life to the marketing algorithms and the government
c) or be relegated to using the HP Smart App that shipped with my Smart tank printer and thus worry about HP selling all my data they have mined to the algorithms/government

Hi, OC_there_you_R

this is a licensing issue and as such we cannot help you in the public forum if it is key related. Typically having only the Default OCR means your license is not being recognized correctly.

We will ask you for screen shots of your license as it appears in the software, and that obviously cannot be done publicly without exposing your license key.

Please email support@pdf-xchange.com and include your license key in the email.

Never post your license on the forums, else we have to block it.
Best regards
