In Build 406, range selection no longer works when Object Editing → Shape is set
When set to Shape under Object Editing, individual selection works, but range selection no longer functions.
Text and images behave normally, and everything worked correctly up to Build 404.
I have not tested Build 405.
This seems to be a bug introduced in Build 406.
Since this is a function I frequently use in my work, I would greatly appreciate it if this could be fixed.
Could you please confirm if this issue is reproducible and if a fix is planned

Hi AGO,
Please note that the red rectangles in your document are likely to be comments, rather than shapes. Can you please share the document here?

Re: In Build 406, range selection no longer works when Object Editing → Shape is set
Hello Sean,
I'm not sure if it's exactly the same as AGO's observation, but I also notice that in build 405 and later, switching Edit Objects mode to Shapes mode causes a discrepancy between the drag area and the recognized object area.
build 404
build 406
In build 404, the result is identical whether Edit Objects mode is set to All or Shapes. However, in build 406, please note that when Edit Objects mode is set to Shapes, there is a discrepancy between the dragged area and the recognized object area.
Hoping that the above information will be of some help to you.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
Best regards,
rakunavi

- After enabling Edit Objects mode for All objects, I drag across the entire page while changing the starting point each time: top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right.
- After enabling Edit Objects mode only for Shapes objects, I perform the exact same dragging operation as done for All objects.

Re: In Build 406, range selection no longer works when Object Editing → Shape is set
Hello Daniel, thank you for contacting developers.
The shapes included in the sample file I showed in my previous post are flattened rectangle comments. When comments are flattened, the Shape appears positioned under the XForm in the Contents pane, and this issue occurs only in such cases.
Therefore, as demonstrated in the video, if you move the Shape objects outside the XForm in the Contents pane, dragging operation will be recognized correctly. For your reference.

Hello, rakunavi
Good catch, The Xform containers are intentionally in place to reduce the size of duplicated objects, but we certainly should be handling these items the same regardless of the presence of the Xform container.

Re: In Build 406, range selection no longer works when Object Editing → Shape is set
Hello everyone,
The shapes that cannot be selected properly are those created under an XForm container, as rakunavi pointed out.
Sorry for the delay, but I am sharing the document that I used when I made my original report.
I have also confirmed that the same behavior occurs in Build 405

Re: In Build 406, range selection no longer works when Object Editing → Shape is set
Hello all,
Previous reports assumed Edit Objects mode was set to Shapes, but I belatedly noticed that even with the default All setting, behavior differs from build 404. While I believe the developers are already aware of the situation, I'm adding this information for reference.
In the verification video below, the mouse is dragged as indicated by the arrows in the figure for both build 404 and build 407. Please note that the selected content and timing differ.

Re: In Build 406, range selection no longer works when Object Editing → Shape is set
I have confirmed that even in Version 11, there is no change in the behavior where objects inside an XForm cannot be selected by dragging a selection range.
Does the development team consider this behavior to be by design, or do they intend to restore it to the state prior to Build 404?

Hello, AGO
This is most definitely not by design. The Dev team has been unfortunately busy lately however, and this item is lower on the priority list than some more impactful issues, as you can workaround it by either using the normal edit all tool, or simply by dragging a larger area until the full selection is complete. I have nonetheless nudged the dev team to remind them this exists and needs a resolution, since it is getting on in age, as far as bugs go.. Terribly sorry for the delay.
