[suggestion] Visualization of document sections on the document scrollbar

Post by Jensen Head »

I'm asking the development team to consider displaying Named Destinations or first-level Bookmarks on the document's vertical scrollbar.

This would be similar to what users are accustomed to on YouTube and in video player apps. Enabling this feature will functionally complement existing Named Destinations or Bookmarks sidebars without having to open the corresponding panels, and it won't eat up screen space.

Furthermore, searching for words in the document would be much more informative, as the strokes of the found locations would be displayed on the scrollbar along with the chapters.

Currently, nothing happens when you hover over the scrollbar. However, the title of the named destination or the first level bookmark preceding the location indicated by the cursor could be displayed.

Hello, Jensen Head

I have to give you some honest praise here, I am actually mildly upset that I didn't come up with this suggestoin myself - I think it is a great idea!

But beyond my personal opinion, as usual I have passed this along to the Dev team for consideration, and will let you know if they accept it.

Kind regards,
