Send mail by Gmail Webmail stalled

Post by Sarah-ep »

I've followed the instructions, but when I make Gmail Webmail current and click Apply, nothing happens. I expected that I would have to set up that link via login.

With no other options, I click OK. Clicking on email addresses in the doc still sends me to Outlook.

Please help. This should have taken 1 minute max. I've spent 25 on it.

Anyone?

I've tried all sorts about protocol handlers, Windows defaults. At one point it looked like it had worked but "Google blocked the app" when I verified the login correctly. Is this just something rubbish about pdf-xchange?

Hello, Sarah-ep

Unfortunately Google appears to have now entirely disabled their previous "less secure app access" function, which was required for mail access. At this point it is not possible to use the send by gmail function, until we have built in a new solution.

This is in the works, but it is not something I can promise a timeline on, I am sorry to say.

Kind regards,

Hi Sara-ep.
Our Send Mail feature and its related methods are not designed to be triggered by clicking an email address in the document. Allowing this could make it possible to unintentionally send a private document to an email address found in the document in just a couple of clicks. The Send Mail feature is designed to work only when it is intentionally called from the menu. If a user clicks an email address inside the document, the default system email application should be launched instead.
Regarding the Google issues: we are currently in the process of getting our app approved by Google. The process is not moving quickly on their side, but we hope it will be completed soon.
