Hello,
I’ve noticed a very annoying problem with some PDFs, as described below, though I’m not sure if the update from 10 to 11 (11.0.1.0) is the cause or if it’s just certain PDFs.
Previously, when printing, “Reduce to Print Area” was always preselected as the “Type” under “Position and Scaling.”
This usually continues to work very well:
* Open PDF-Xchange Editor > create a new document = “Reduce to print area” is used as the “Type” as usual.
* Open an older PDF (A4 invoice; A0 CAD drawing, etc.) = “Reduce to print area” is used as the “Type” as usual.
What’s new for me now is that some PDFs always change the “Type” to “No Resizing” when opened:
Previously, in XChange, if I opened multiple PDFs and changed the print settings for the first one (e.g., by selecting a different printer), the changed print settings would be applied to the subsequent PDFs for the active session.
Now, with PDFs like “003-WIR_EP_ARC_GP_E01_003_V_-_.pdf,” the changed printer is used, but the “Type” is always reset.
-> How can I configure the settings so that “Reduce to print area” remains preselected under “Type” by default?
Thanks and best regards,
Matthias

Hello MatthiasHecht,
The problem comes from the file properties.
Something sets this to None instead of Default:
Regards.

Hello,
Thanks for the explanation!
Please pass along this user request to the software developers: It would be helpful to have a feature in the settings called “Ignore Document Properties” or “Ignore Print Dialog Presets from Document Properties.”
Thank you very much,
Matthias
