Feature upgrade?

Post by PeterDN »

Good morning,

No issue, but a suggestion.

When I am dragging an element either up or down on the document, it would nice if it would scroll while I am dragging the element.
As it is now I need to drag it to the edge, drop it, scroll down or up, pick it up and do that as many times as necessary to move it up or down on the page.

Thank for your attention.

Peter Netterville

Hello PeterDN,

If you are using the term "element" to mean comments (annotations), I have previously made a feature request for this, and a ticket has already been created. It is true that auto-scrolling does not work when dragging certain types of comments or links.

RT#7677: Auto-scroll when dragging fails w/ comment types
viewtopic.php?t=42403

This feature was also requested in the following topic, so I believe the developers are well aware of this demand:

viewtopic.php?t=48379

The same limitation currently applies to base content as well. However, even when auto-scrolling does not work, you can somewhat bypass this restriction by using your mouse wheel to scroll. It is relatively easy to roll the wheel forward or backward even while dragging, and even horizontal scrolling is possible. Until this is improved, knowing this workaround might help you a bit.

Best regards,
rakunavi
