Typo in tooltip: "Highlightion" should be "Highlighting"

Post by rakunavi »

Hello all,

I noticed a small typo in a tooltip text in the Preferences dialog.

In Preferences > Page Display, next to the option "Highlight destination of clicked link/bookmark", there is a three-dot button. When hovering over this button, the tooltip reads:

  • "Manage Destination Highlightion..."

    figure.png
It should be corrected to "Highlighting" to match the actual dialog title.

  • Current: Manage Destination Highlightion...
  • Suggested: Manage Destination Highlighting...
Hoping that the above information will be of some help to you.
Thank you so much for your continued support.

Best regards,
rakunavi

.. oh, but isn't that word a good one? "Highlightion" Definitely should be part of the English language. :D

Thanks for the clarification. As a non-native speaker, I’m always curious about how certain words sound to native ears. "Highlightion" certainly has an amusing ring to it. :)

Well, to veer completely off-topic: I was born in England, but have spent most of my life in USA, so I don't really know what version of English I speak natively. And I'm someone who enjoys tweaking the language -- much to my family's embarrassment. But I liked the word "Highlightion" because, to me, it sounds like a noun: "I've finished the highlightion"; whereas "Highlighting" sounds like it's in progress: "I'm highlighting the document". Again, this is from someone who has at best a shaky grasp on what is "English" and "American", and it's certain that 99.999% of native English speakers would vehemently disagree with me. Still, it made me smile, so I couldn't help commenting. Oh well, hopefully someone else smiled.
