trouble with new design

Hi there, I trying to come to terms with the behavior of the menu ribbons since the latest update.
I’m really struggling with the fact that the menus keep closing instead of staying open all the time. Where can I change the settings so that they stay open permanently? I know I can switch between ‘Toolbars’ ("Symbolleisten in German") and ‘Ribbons’ ("Menübänder" in German).

With the ‘Toolbars’ settings, they don’t close, but I find the ‘Ribbons’ settings much easier to use. So what I can I do to keep the Ribbons unfolded?

Glad to hear its been resolved, I should also note that you can toggle the state of that "pin" button by double clicking any tab title. This is the most common way people end up accidentally doing what you have seen today, so do keep that in mind.
