If I want to split via bookmark, I would like that the filename is not "unknown" but take the old filename with a number of split suffix. But the option is greyed out then and not taken into account and only and always produces unknown, unknown_1, unknown_2, etc.
for every x pages or y size it is working as expected. Not greyed out and used and produces <oldfilename>_1, <oldfilename>_2, etc.
What ca I do, that the new filename for split via bookmarks is working as the other split options?
Thanks and best regards

Re: Split via bookmarks is not taken filename-pattern
Hello, mawde
Split Via bookmarks uses the bookmark name. If "unknown" is appearing it would indicate that your bookmarks are as yet unnamed. You can use the "add text" function to quickly append details like the filename and page number: This works even when the bookmark names are blank - allowing you to effectively "quick name" each bookmark. After this, you should then be able to split by bookmark and how the output files use those names as needed.
Kind regards,

Re: Split via bookmarks is not taken filename-pattern
O.k. This is an answer for the unknown topic.
But I *dont* want or cannot (so many of them but only for splitting reasons) to add a name in every bookmark. I just need/want it the same way as for the split per page or split per size. Just old name with number suffix.
Background is e.g. split large files in different parts. They are not equal distributed (so per page is not possible), but just putting cut-bookmarks and then split them: done. Did it that way for decades in adobe.
The option to take the bookmark name is great, but then perhapt just as a place holder (Esp. as this placeholder is already in the format section: %[Bookmark]) in the same option menu
That way I can still use filename_page as wanted if those filename dialog is not disabled even for split via bookmarks option and used just like in the other two split options.
So this is really not possible?

Hello, mawde
Currently, yes it is not possible the way the tool is configured. I have passed the suggestion along, but as with any feature request, I cannot promise an implementation or a timeline - so the above should act as a workaround until such a time.
Kind regards,

Re: Split via bookmarks is not taken filename-pattern
Thank you. But really a pitty, as everything is there (file pattern and variables in filname fields) so everything could be possible as in the both other split options.
Either with bookmark pattern as for now or via page pattern as in the other options.
Would really looking forward that this restiction is removed and be more unique.
