I would like to report an issue regarding the page rotation display when switching between Standard Page Layout and Ribbon Page Layout.
[Steps to Reproduce]
Open any PDF document in PDF-XChange Editor.
Rotate the view of the document (e.g., rotate 90 degrees clockwise).
Switch the layout from Standard Page Layout to Ribbon Page Layout (or vice versa).
[Actual Result]
The main document view automatically resets to 0 degrees visually, regardless of the previous rotation angle.
However, the internal rotation state is not reset. This is evident because the page thumbnails in the Thumbnails pane still show the rotated state.
If you attempt to rotate the view again after switching the layout, the rotation is applied based on the hidden, internal angle. This causes a major discrepancy between what the user sees on the screen and how the software responds to subsequent rotation commands.
[Expected Result]
The document's visual rotation angle should be fully maintained when switching between Standard Page Layout and Ribbon Page Layout. Changing this layout option should not alter or desync the document's current view state.
I have attached a short video demonstrating this issue.

Hoping that the above information will be of some help to you.
Thank you for your hard work on this great software.
Best regards,

The Ribbon page layout as it exists is slated for replacement as a whole, as such, we are not targeting bugs with the existing implementation as that section of the codebase will be removed when it is replaced. Thank you for the report, but this item will not be seeing action. instead a complete replacement will become available in time, with its own new unique circumstances.
Kind regards,

As someone who has worked with Ribbon Page Layout for many years, I sincerely hope that the new layout system will inherit the ergonomically sound principles that made Ribbon Layout valuable — especially its horizontal, book‑like page arrangement. Considering the nature of most printed materials, a left‑right spread often provides a more natural reading experience than a vertical stack, and I believe this concept has long been one of Ribbon Layout’s strengths.
I understand that the existing implementation is slated for replacement. At the same time, I cannot deny that it is a little disappointing to see that the numerous Ribbon‑related issues I have reported over nearly five years — many of which were ticketed — will no longer have relevance going forward. Still, I genuinely hope that the new design will preserve the usability benefits that Ribbon Layout has offered, and perhaps even refine them further.
I look forward to seeing how the new page layout model evolves.
Best regards,
rakunavi
