New guy here

1) I HATE Adobe Acrobat.

2) I've been looking for a good, fast, reasonably priced PDF editor, for years.

3) I hate Acrobat, and I also hate Adobe.

4) I hate software subscription biz models, I don't want to rent software -- forever.

5) I ran across PDF-XChange, yesterday. So far so - amazing.

Question, I see in the bottom right when I have a PDF open, I see the adobe acrobat icon. I click it, then it opens the file in Acrobat.

Once I move to this program, will I ever need Acrobat again??? Are their PDFs that XChange has problems with???

The only item that comes to mind you may still need to Acrobat for would be filling in and signing "XFA" formatted documents - (which can be done with their free version)

As for the button you see in our software, that is configurable to use any software compatible with PDF files - we simply show a link to Acrobat as a default when it is detected as installed on your system, because it is one of the most widely used PDF software at this time.
As noted, you can configure whichever other applications you wish to use with this menu, here:

I tried out Xchange for a few weeks, and LOVE it. I bought Pro yesterday. Great work guys!
