Timestamp or CryptoLib issue

Post by Spiridonov »

I used PDF-XChange Editor for digital signatures for years, everything works fine, but recently I was required to include a certified timeserver in my signatures

I have *.p12 certificate installed in Windows storage, and here is the issue.
The timestamp URL is included in the settings correctly, this window is popping up during the signature

But after clicking OK, this one appears:

AI, searches etc suggested changing the default digital signature handler process from CryptoLib to Windows Crypto API, but there are no such settings in PDF-XChange.
I just can't find it, or CryptoLib is hardcoded into the process without the possibility to change?

PDF-XChange Editor, ver 11.0.1

Hello, Spiridonov

Thank you for the report - As this topic pertains to the sensitive nature of a Signature certificate and your personal information stored therein, could I ask you email [email protected] directly to continue the discussion? Please include a link to this post, so I can connect the two.

I have just reached out to our Dev team to check if there is anything beyond the normal we need for this case, but to start, screenshots of the signing window before you have click ok to place the certificate would help.
If it is at all possible, it would also be helpful to have a copy of the p12 certificate file itself.

Kind regards,

Certificate works well - I checked on another software, the timestamp passed all the tests after.
The problem is in PDFX-Change, but I would prefer to use it instead of another app

And for clarity: signature process works well, there is no issues (and never been)
The problem is with the certified timestamp server that uses a *.p12 certificate for access

I have just sent you an email with a custom debugging version of the software to record the issue so we can look into it further. Could you please check your email and pass those logs along to us.
