Feature Request: Show tooltips for truncated items in Dropdown and List Box fields

Hello all,

I would like to request a feature enhancement regarding the usability of dropdown lists (comboboxes) and list box fields in PDF forms.

Current Behavior in PDF-XChange Editor:
When either a dropdown list or a list box contains long items that exceed the field/list width, the text is cut off. Hovering over these truncated items does not display the full content, making it difficult for users to know what they are selecting.

Expected / Desired Behavior:
When a user opens a dropdown list or views a list box, and hovers over an item that exceeds the width, a popup/tooltip should automatically appear to display the full, un-truncated text.

Behavior in Other Viewers:
This user-friendly feature is already standard in many other major PDF viewers (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, Microsoft Edge, and Foxit PDF Reader) for both dropdowns and list boxes.

To demonstrate the difference, I have attached several files:

Hello Daniel, thank you for looking into this.

I’m glad to hear that a feature request has already been submitted and a ticket has been created.
If the ticket was created in December 2022, it might be implemented sooner than I expected.
