Converting to PDF/A 1b creation date issue

Post by braink »

Hello,

it seems that there is a problem with the conversion of a pdf file to a pdf/a-1b file. The creation date of the resulting file after the conversion mismatch the creation date which is stored in the xmp:CreateDate metadata section. In my workflow, this leads to later problems because the pdf/a-1b file is marked as invalid from validating tools like adobe preflight. I checked the issue with the ExifTool:

After correcting the pdf creation date manually, everything is fine. So the question is, whats the reason for the date mismatch described above.

My setup : PDF-XChange Editor Plus, version 10.8.4, build 409 - Windows 11, version 25H2, build 26200.8737.

Best regards

Hello, braink

Thank you for the report, I have raised this with the Dev team for review, but I cannot offer a better solution just yet.
If they come back with more news I will be sure to keep you posted here.

Hello Daniel,

thank you for your reply. Currently i can use the ExifTool as workaround for the topic. But this is quite annoying while handling many files. I'm looking forward to read something about it.

Best regards
