Callout/Description tool no longer automatically changes leader attachment side

In older PDF-XChange Editor versions the leader of the "Description" annotation automatically attached to the nearest side of the text box depending on its position relative to the callout point.

In Version 10.4.4 Build 392 the leader appears to be created with a fixed attachment position. Even when the text box is moved around the callout point, the attachment side is not automatically recalculated.

Is this an intentional design change, a setting, or a bug?

Are you referring to the way the leader can be repositioned on the box like this? :

This is from 11.0.1 - current as of today. Or are you referring to something else?
